Never Stop Learning

Throughout ISM last week, the main items I focused on were emailing and contacting professionals for my final product, updating my digital and binder portfolios, researching various elements of pediatrics which I wanted to focus on for my final product, and continuously working on my final product. I have also been attending weekly mentor visits in order to gain a better understanding of pediatrics.

At my last mentor visit, my pediatrician and I discussed how to further improve my final product. She said that next week, I should create “bubbles” for some of my ideas, which is a way to organize all of my thoughts for possible book concepts. I will absolutely incorporate that method as that provides me with a way to look at my book ideas in an overall sense. Furthermore, we discussed the publication aspect and how it will most likely be an unpublished book but can still consist of a well, thought-out message.

I believe the main portion of this product is the clear and comprehensible conveyance of the acceptance method. In the interview I conducted with Ms. Alyssa Floresco, I learned quite a bit of valuable information concerning the care that is required when it comes to patients with mental illness and the popularity of trauma and sexually abused patients that many people seem to disregard. Moreover, she discussed some central misconceptions and myths society possesses pertaining to anxiety, depression, etc. The idea that adults do not fully accept differences amongst one another also impacts younger generations because parents end up subconsciously raising their children the same way.

In conclusion, I feel as if my final product is coming along well and that my mentor visits have been assisting me greatly, not only with my final product, but with learning more about pediatrics and enhancing my knowledge in order to further my interest in a likely future profession.
