My Mission in Life is Not Merely to Survive, But to Thrive

Throughout this past week in ISM, I diligently worked to update my mentor, contact, and product log in order to properly portray my documentation of work. I also updated my portfolio so I could have it ready when it came time for my mentor to evaluate it.

So far, my product has been coming along quite well. I began writing my proposal about a week and a half ago and I am currently editing/revising the introduction portion and hoping to complete that section by the end of this week. Then, I am planning to start on the research portion of my proposal, which is the bulk of my letter and includes all of my content/argument for an adjustment in the menu. After that section, I will include a section solely dedicated to obstacles that the district and/or AlphaBEST may face in attempting to implement these new changes. Lastly, I will include a conclusion and my final thoughts as to why I believe teaching the children of our society healthy habits at a young age is extremely essential. If time allows, I may contact a few more dietitians and depending on the timeliness of their responses, their answers will be incorporated into my research.

In conclusion, no matter what the outcome of my final product, I am hoping it will be an eye-opener within the district and put forward some changes that may not have been otherwise brought forth. Even if I do not induce a change in the menu, I am hoping that the district and AlphaBEST will continue to work together to consciously create a change, because nutrition begins at home and at school, one step at a time.
