This past Thursday and Friday, I was fortunate enough to have my school take part in the Shattered Dreams program, a two-day simulation which presents the truly devastating impacts of drunk/distracted driving, portraying a before, during, and after (which included a memorial and funeral service, along with a few guest speakers). The main message I received from this activity is that we have a choice. All of us have a choice to bring light and positivity into this world, to provide peace and comfort to those around us.
This relates back to my ISM experience through the fact that we have a choice. The choices I make in this class will not only benefit my personal well-being, but they will also prove advantageous when I decide if pediatrics is a career that I would truly like to pursue. However, this course has also taught me that making mistakes can be costly, such as the procrastination resulting in a late grade or not time-managing properly which induces an immense panic attack.
In conclusion, I hope to continue making fruitful choices now and in the future. ISM has provided me with the tools and from here on out, I must learn how to skillfully apply them to my daily life.
