Have Faith in Yourself and in the Future

Throughout this past week in ISM, I began creating my presentation for my research speech, brainstorming original work ideas, and updating my contact logs and portfolios. The realization hit me that I must be continuously maintaining the accuracy and recency of these logs and portfolios. Otherwise, I will fall behind and and it will pile up on the due date.

Original work is a project that I am immensely excited about and I have already conceived a list with potential ideas. This year, the significant aspect I will be focusing on will be the creative and innovative portion of this assignment. As many research assessments have hopefully illustrated, researching and analyzing content is not as difficult as constructing an impactful, tangible item, especially one that could make a difference in the pediatric world. Thus, my mentor stated that obesity, food allergies, and sudden infant death syndrome were just a few current trending topics throughout pediatricians. Whatever I decide to choose, I know that I will have to acquire much knowledge and let the topic guide me, rather than force an idea to be created.

Similarly, typing up content for my research speech is not the difficult part. It is finding a cohesive, flexible layout that matches my color scheme and website theme, while also properly conveying my information. Because I am trying to change my brand a little bit, I have decided to also utilize a different PowerPoint layout that will most likely have a more effective impact on my audience. As I have learned, one’s information can be completely overlooked if he/she has based it around a lackluster layout.

In conclusion, I have been making sure to complete tasks not solely for the present, but also for the future and for my larger goal in life. I absolutely have faith that if I continue working hard, I will achieve current and long-term goals.
